Toyota has launched its updated 2016 Toyota Highlander at New York Auto Show 2016. Some note-worthy changes had been made in Highlander three years ago and some new upgrades have been added to it again. Toyota has recently upgraded its two other heavy vehicles Land cruiser and Fortuner and now the upgraded Highlander also made its way for a grand launch. It seems that Toyota is on makeover spree especially with its SUVs. Toyota Highlander is designed to be a perfect companion for on-road as well as off-road driving ventures. It is durable, high performance and luxurious vehicle with stunning features.

Performance and Engine

There are three powertrain options including the new V6 with direct injection, a hybrid V6 and older V6 engine including hybrid, front wheel or all-wheel drive. With 3.5-litre V6, eight-speed transmission, the new highlander takes an edge over the six-speed transmission for many reasons. The engine will be able to produce more horsepower and improved fuel consumption. The multiple versions that are available in this supreme SUV make it affordable for different classes of buyers looking for varying specifications.

Six different models of upgraded Highlander will be available that are LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, Limited and Limited Platinum.

Modified Outlook of the SUV

The exterior of the car has been refreshed by making some changes in front fascia with squeezed grill, refreshed new bumper and redesigned front and rear lights. The variants of this car are different in the exterior. The new color scheme will give a more attracting touch to the new Toyota Highlander. For all LE, LE Plus, XLE and SE, a silver finishing has been given to the grills while the grills of Platinum and Limited Platinum receive chrome finishing.
